Rustic Cedar

A Select Tight Knot grade of Cedar that is valued for its rich colour tones, lovely distinctive aroma, and natural durability. It’s a sought-after choice for those looking for quality timber that’s lightweight, versatile, and full of character. The tight knots bring visual interest and warmth, lending themselves to both refined and relaxed architectural styles.

While Rustic Cedar is a favourite for exterior weatherboard cladding, it’s equally suited to interior applications. Its warm golden-brown heartwood and naturally occurring ring patterns, often described as “cathedral tracery” which adds a unique design element to wall linings, ceiling sarking, and feature panels.

This species is available as part of JSC’s CodeMark-certified exterior cladding systems, providing verified compliance with the New Zealand Building Code.
