A showhome exists to show what's possible. This Penny Homes project makes that case through the addition of timber, a material that has been central to New Zealand homes for as long as homes have been built here. Through the decades, trends come and go. Timber remains a constant feature of kiwi homes. TMT Amba runs the full extent of this Taupo build: horizontal rusticated cladding across the exterior gables, ceiling boards through the open-plan living space, interior panelling wrapping the entry, study and powder room, even the garage door is clad in TMT Amba. The same timber, from the street to the smallest room in the house.

Outside the home, cladding holds cleanly against white render and charcoal roofing. Inside, a lighter factory coating keeps the grain visible and the finish unforced. One product, used throughout, that earns its place in every room.
