Summersfield Palms Show Home
Custom Architectural Design
Designed and built by G.J. Gardner Homes Nelson, this 219.6 m² custom home brings together contemporary lines, natural textures, and a warm, coastal-inspired palette. With four bedrooms, two bathrooms, three living areas, and a double garage, the layout is crafted for both functionality and relaxed family living.
Exterior Materials & Architectural Expression
The exterior brings together a thoughtful mix of textures - painted render, stonework, and vertical Western Red Cedar timber cladding, creating a balanced and cohesive street presence. The Cedar is installed in a J58 vertical shiplap profile, a design choice that introduces subtle rhythm and elegance to the facade. The centre groove within the profile creates the impression of slimmer weatherboards, contributing to a polished, high-end architectural finish.
Coated in Dryden Dune, the Cedar carries a soft, natural warmth that enhances the grain and complements the surrounding materials. This gentle tone blends seamlessly with the light masonry and stone chimney, giving the home a timeless, understated sophistication.
Interior Atmosphere
Inside, the home continues its soft and contemporary aesthetic. Curved forms, muted tones, and a layered material palette create a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. Light-filled living areas and sculptural furnishings build a sense of ease throughout, echoing the calm exterior palette and reinforcing the home’s cohesive design language.
A Custom Home Designed for Modern Living
Three living spaces offer flexibility for family life, while generous glazing introduces natural light into key areas. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and family zone anchors the home, connecting effortlessly to the outdoor areas. The overall result is a beautifully resolved home that balances comfort, style, and everyday functionality.
