About the Project:

Transform Construction and Violet Design recently collaborated on a stunning residential project in Ohauiti, a semi-rural suburb in Tauranga. JSC supplied Alaskan Yellow Cedar (AYC) for the vertical cladding and panelling, coated in JSC Scumble colour Desert. Braedon from Transform Construction felt the collaboration with Violet Design, particularly Donna, played a crucial role in navigating challenges and ensuring a smooth construction process. He felt the owner's hands-on approach to interior design further enriched the project.

Design and Inspiration: The client's brief aimed at creating a home for entertaining, with specific emphasis on level entry and a standout outdoor room. Violet Design contributed the inspired design details, seamlessly incorporating the rich golden to reddish finish of AYC against dark aluminum black cladding and interior walls.

Material Selection: The selection process involved a careful balance of aesthetics and functionality. The combination of Hardies Axon panel for the dark vs. timber look, paired with the distinctive Alaskan Yellow Cedar, was a key decision. JSC's AYC, known for its durability and versatility, was chosen for both interior and exterior applications.

Transform Constructions Favorite Aspects: The project's flow, especially the outdoor room with a custom-built BBQ area, stands out as a highlight. The outdoor cooking oven, a unique feature, adds an epic touch to the overall design.
