Rangitahi Peninsula Home
Set in a peaceful corner of Raglan, this exceptional home by FV Design & Build has earned significant recognition, including a place in the National Top 100 and Regional Supreme House of the Year, along with Regional Mitre 10 Craftsmanship, Regional Category Winner, and Regional Gold in the Resene New Home $2–$4 million category.
The exterior expresses the same thoughtful restraint seen throughout the home, with JSC Western Red Cedar cladding bringing depth and definition to the facade. A combination of J55 standard profile weatherboards finished in Dryden Dune and J58 centre-groove weatherboards coated in Dryden Midnight creates a refined contrast between light and dark tones. This interplay enhances the home's strong architectural lines while softening the overall palette to sit comfortably within the coastal landscape.
The interior is defined by calm, coastal-inspired detailing, where JSC’s Western Hemlock batten features play a central role. With its subtle white-washed finish, the Hemlock introduces warmth and texture while maintaining the home’s clean, contemporary aesthetic. A striking feature wall crafted from 36 x 36 D4S battens anchors the entry, paired with a floating bench for added dimension. The same rhythm continues through the battened ceiling spanning the kitchen and dining area, creating a cohesive flow across the communal spaces. For the cabinetry, wider Hemlock boards provide a refined, seamless look. All these interior rimber elements are finished in JSC Coda Luxury ‘Lux’ Wax - White, achieving a soft, modern tone that complements the polished concrete floors and natural surroundings.
The result is a beautifully balanced home - understated, warm, and expertly crafted. We’re proud to have supported this award-winning project with premium timber solutions across both the interior and exterior.
